Dalena is in her second year of Mining Engineering at Queen’s University. Originally from Sudbury, Ontario (“The Nickel Capital of the World”), she has always been interested in the job opportunities and business applications available in the mining field. However, she wasn’t fully aware of the variety of career options and sectors available to engineers until she attended CIRQUE 2020. As a student delegate, she was able to network with Queen’s Engineering Alumni from an array of professional fields; from business, to oil and gas, to consulting, and was given the opportunity to speak with alumni working at major companies such as BCG, Google, and Amazon. Dalena joined the CIRQUE 2021 executive team as a Logistics Coordinator in hopes of helping her fellow students to realize the flexibility of their engineering degree. Outside of CIRQUE, she works as a Finance Officer for Queen’s Engineering Society, and volunteers as a Finance Coordinator for Queen’s Women in Science and Engineering. In her spare time, Dalena loves to cook, swim, and explore creative outlets such as photography and video editing.
